Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy can enable a deeper understanding of psychological difficulties, particularly for those who feel stuck in familiar, recurring patterns but can’t seem to find a way through.

When something is painful, we often find ways to ignore it—‘out of sight, out of mind.’ Sometimes, we bury difficult experiences so deeply that we lose sight of them altogether, even if we remain acutely aware of other struggles. These unresolved experiences can continue to affect us, often outside of our conscious awareness.

Psychotherapy offers an opportunity to move beyond immediate concerns and explore your difficulties on a deeper level. By meeting regularly, we can create a space where your inner experiences may gradually surface—allowing them to be more fully felt and brought into clearer awareness. This work often involves facing aspects of your difficulties that may have been avoided for a long time, and it requires a meaningful investment of time and resources. However, over a period of months or longer, you may begin to discover new insight, meaning, choice, and a greater sense of freedom in your life.

What will sessions be like?

Psychotherapy sessions with me usually take place weekly over a period of months or longer.

In sessions, I’ll leave space for your thoughts, feelings, and experiences to emerge, so that together we can pay close attention to whatever you happen to bring. There’s no need to come prepared or to have anything specific in mind—simply bringing yourself is enough.

It’s completely normal for this process to feel a little anxiety-provoking at first. We can explore that anxiety together, and in doing so, begin to better understand what’s happening for you.
